The Hong Kong Prize and the BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize

The Hong Kong Prize aims to honor the academic accomplishments of students and to give them recognition they deserve. Prize winners are not only honored at an awards ceremony, but they receive cash prizes and access to research facilities in Hong Kong.

The competition is open to all enrolled secondary school students in Hong Kong. Students can enter the contest by being nominated by their teachers. The winning team will be selected by the judges based on the scores of their applications and their work. The winner will win a cash prize of HK$8,000 and their school will receive a HK$20,000 grant.

In addition to monetary prizes, the winners of the prize will be given the opportunity to form a company in Hong Kong and receive a tax deduction of 30% on their prize money. They are also required to use the prize money to promote their innovative technologies, develop prototypes and demonstrate them at exhibitions in Hong Kong. HKUST reserves the right to withhold or defer in whole or in part any cash prize awarded to teams who violate these conditions.

This year’s award received entries from across the country and around the world. The winners were chosen based on their ability to demonstrate the spirit of innovation, their ability to create value for society and their contribution to the Hong Kong economy. The jury was impressed with the variety of projects submitted and the high level of quality demonstrated by the shortlisted candidates.

Hong Kong’s film industry has been thriving and it is evident that the city has many talents to offer. One such talent is actress Eunice Wong, who has been named the 2022 Hong Kong New Wave Talent of the Year at the HKIFF. Eunice has been in the industry for over 10 years and has starred in more than 30 films.

Ten Years took the top prize at the Hong Kong Film Awards after winning local box office success and antagonising Beijing over its portrayal of the semi-autonomous territory. The controversial film consists of five vignettes that tap residents’ worst fears about the future of the region as China tightens its grip on Hong Kong.
