The Basics of Roulette

Roullete

Roulette is one of the most popular casino games and is played at online as well as land casinos around the world. Players place chips on a Roulette wheel and a betting table in order to predict which slot the ball will fall into when the wheel stops spinning. Despite its simplicity, the game has numerous variations that can be found at casino sites worldwide and has attracted many players due to the fact that it is a simple gambling game based on luck.

There are several types of bets that can be made in the game including outside and inside bets. Outside bets are placed on options located on the outer part of the Roulette table and have lower payouts than those placed on inside bets. Nevertheless, the chances of winning are higher for these bets since they cover more number positions on the Roulette table.

Some of the outside bets include the ‘Column’ and the ‘Dozen’. The former is placed by placing your chip at the ‘2 to 1′ section on the Roulette table and wins when the ball stops in any of the numbers you have wagered on. The latter is placed by placing a chip on any of the three ’12’ sections on the Roulette table and wins when the ball hits any of the numbers you have staked on.

Besides the outside bets, players can also make corner bets and six line bets which have better odds of winning than single number bets. The Corner bet is made by placing your chip at the point shared by four adjacent numbers on the Roulette table and pays 8-1. The Six line bet, on the other hand, is a wager that encompasses two adjacent rows of three numbers each for a total of 6 numbers and pays 5-1.

Players should always start by placing their chips on the outside bets of the roulette table as these are easier to win and offer a more significant return on investment. However, the player should never be tempted to use grandiose or complicated strategies as this game is all about chance and not skill.
